The Big island is the largest, but youngest of the Hawaiian Islands.  The geological terrain of the Big Island is nothing short of amazing; the island is made up of 5 volcanoes, 2 of them are extinct and 1 is dormant and 2 volcanoes; Muana Loa and Kilauea are very active.

The Big Island has 11 of the world's 13 climate zones as well as the United States 'wettest city'.  Two mountain define the Big Islands landscape; Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa.  Mauna Kea is over 13,796 feet tall.  Snow-capped peaks can be seen on the peaks atop Mauna Kea in the winter months.

The Big Island hosts some amazing Hotels from small Bed & Breakfasts to sprawling, 5-Star beachfront Resorts.  Most Resorts are on the Kona side of the island, with the most exclusive Resorts being found at Waikoloa and Kohala to the north. Hilo features a few Big Island Hotels and Resorts, and is considered the more “local” side of the Big Island.

The Big Island is also home to many exciting activities and attractions, shopping from quaint 'Mom & Pop' shops to luxury brand boutiques, road side food shacks to 5-Star restaurants, entertainment options from local artist to international headliners, cultural events, world class golf, enchanting day spa's and more.
