The Event, which takes place at Kalakaua Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. features live entertainment, and one of the highlights is a colorful Lion Dance performance. The Lion Dance has a long, rich history in Chinese culture, and the chance to see it should not be missed. Live martial arts demonstrations include experts of various ages showing off their amazing skills in a number of different martial arts disciplines. Young people really appreciate these demonstrations, and it is also a way to get your kids interested in practicing martial arts.

This Hawaii Event wraps up with a beautiful fireworks show, which is a lovely way to end the Chinese New Year Festival. Eat, drink, play, and learn at the Chinese New Festival in Downtown Hilo.
