Visitors will not find as many Events on Lanai as they will on the other Hawaiian Islands, but July visitors can enjoy the Pineapple Festival – a nod to Lanai’s nickname of Pineapple Island.

About the Pineapple Festival:
There was a time when much of the Island was covered in pineapple groves. This littlest Island of Hawaii actually supplied 75% of the world’s pineapple. Today, Lanai only produces enough pineapples to satisfy the locals, but the Pineapple Festival is a Lanai Event that pays tribute to Lanai’s pineapple growing heyday.

This Event on Lanai includes Activities for the whole family including crafts and games. Exhibitors’ booths line the grounds and live entertainment takes place throughout. Of course, this IS the pineapple festival, so expect several food options with pineapple as the main ingredient.

As you stop to enjoy the hula dancers, Tahitian performers and other live entertainment, enjoy a pineapple smoothie, pineapple ice cream, and other pineapple-inspired treats. Cooking contests give local chefs a chance to show off their skills and you can watch as judges pick their favorites.

If you’re staying on Maui, you can just hop on the ferry and come to Lanai for this popular annual Event. In addition to food, vendors will be on hand selling a variety of locally-made crafts. The Event on Lanai is a wonderful place to shop for mementos of your visit to the Island.

Last year, USA Today named the Pineapple Festival one of the Top 10 Best Specialty Food Festivals in the country. If you’ll be visiting on July 4th, then stop by this Lanai Event to celebrate one of the sweetest parts of Lanai’s history.
