About Helena’s Hawaiian Food:
The current head of this Oahu Restaurant is Craig Katsuyoshi – grandson of the founder, Helen Chock. You can rest assured that Katsuyoshi is committed to maintaining the same high standards that his grandmother had in place, and you can taste that commitment in every bite.
This is a small and very casual Honolulu Restaurant, and it’s a perfect choice for those who are visiting Oahu on a limited budget. Most things on the menu are priced less than $20, and many options are less than $10. Come expecting delicious Hawaiian fare, and you will not be disappointed.
Try the Kalua Pig & Cabbage ($4.50), the Lau Lau ($4.25), or the Luau Chicken ($4.15.) Another favorite menu item is the Short Ribs Pipikala Style. A small order is just $7.50 or you can spring for the large for $15.00. As you can see, it’s easy to eat here on a tight budget, and that’s one reason this Oahu Restaurant is a favorite with both locals and visitors.
Other popular dishes at Helena’s Hawaiian Food are Lomi Salmon, Opihi, or Fried Butterfish Collar. Instead of ordering from the ala carte menu, you can opt for the set menus which include a variety of items for one price. These set menus are a good option if you’re dining with your family. One example of this type of menu includes Kalua Pig, Lomi Salmon, Pipkaula Short Ribs, and Luau Squid.
During your next visit to Oahu consider enjoying a meal (or two) at Helena’s Hawaiian Food. After nearly 70 years, this popular Honolulu Restaurant continues to serve amazing Hawaiian food at reasonable prices.
