About Leonard’s Bakery:
A malasada is a Portuguese donut with no hole that is a favorite treat among locals, but this wasn’t always so. It wasn’t until the 1950’s that malasadas were introduced to the local population, but once they were, they quickly became a favorite indulgence. Today, many Oahu Bakeries sell this sweet treat, but it was Leonard’s Bakery that first introduced them to the locals.
You can order your malasada in a variety of ways. Some people like their doughy treat plain, but you can also opt for coatings of cinnamon sugar or li hing. Custard, chocolate, and coconut fillings are also available. Sample several varieties to try and figure out which is your favorite. The answer will probably be “all of them.”
Many visitors fall in love with malasadas, and there is some good news. You can order Leonard’s Bakery’s malasadas online. They are just $1 a piece (minimum order of 24), and will be shipped to your house. When your package arrives, you can relive one of your most delicious Island memories.
After enjoying a great meal at a Honolulu Restaurant, stop by Leonard’s Bakery to pick up dessert. They keep long hours, so you could even stop in after a late dinner. Bring some malasadas back to your Oahu Hotel room to indulge in as you relax in your Guest Room.
If you want to eat like a local during your stay on the Island then a visit to this Oahu Bakery for some malasadas is an absolute must. After one bite you’ll wonder how you lived without them!
